-- Renewal Service Throughout the year, WJC holds a Service of Renewal. This special Ma'ariv (evening) service includes songs, prayers, voice & instruments, meditations, niggunim (wordless melodies), rituals and all focused on feeding both body and soul. The service, which will not replace the regular Ma’ariv minyan at 7:30pm, lasts about an one hour and is followed by coffee and light desserts. The Service of Renewal is not limited to those who suffer physical illness. The liturgy will include prayers and meditations for renewal in regard to relatives and loved ones of those who are ill, to marriages and family relationships, to relationships with God, addictions, the pain and stresses caused by financial setbacks, and those just in need of spiritual renewal in these turbulent and challenging times. The service is not group therapy in which people will share. Rather, it is an opportunity for each participant to join a community of those who wish to find spiritual strength in the beauty of Torah and prayer. As the vast majority of the service will be in English, no prior knowledge of the Ma'ariv service is necessary. 2010-2011 Renewal Services are currently scheduled for :
