Calling All Post B’nai Mitzvah of WJC

Announcing a new Torah reading program at WJC for all students who have completed their B’nai Mitzvah. This is an opportunity for all of our trained Torah readers who have already spent months studying tropes and Torah portions for their own Bar or Bat Mitzvah, to share their expertise and freshen up their skills.

Here’s how it works:
  • Interested students can contact Linda Falk at lindajfalk@aol.com to inquire about participating in the program either on specific dates or as needed.
  • The Cantor will prepare either a CD or email copies of the text and MP3 files to be downloaded to an IPOD or other MP3 player.
  • Meet with the Cantor to review the portion a few weeks prior to assigned reading.
  • After 5 readings, students will receive their own personal Yad from Cantor. After 10 readings, students will receive a beautiful Tikkun that includes Torah portions with and without vowels.
The first dates available this fall are during the holidays and include Torah readings for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Shabbatot in October 2010. If you or someone you know would be interested in joining the Yad Squad – please contact us as soon as possible.
