DESCRIPTION:The Holocaust Learning Center Committee invites you to an in-pe
 rson Kristallnacht commemoration on Sunday\, November 7th from 10:00am-12:
 00pm featuring a screening of the documentary film Defiant Requiem followe
 d by a conversation with conductor Murry Sidlin. The film highlights the r
 emarkable story of Rafael Schächter\, a brilliant\, young Czech conductor
  who was sent to the Terezín concentration camp in 1941 and of the Jewish
  prisoners who performed with him. In the most dramatic example of intelle
 ctual and artistic courage\, Schächter led one hundred and fifty prisoner
 s to learn and perform Verdi's Requiem\, enabling them to transcend horrif
 ic conditions and engage in resistance against and defiance of the Nazis.\
 n\nAfter the screening\, conductor Murry Sidlin\, President and Creative D
 irector of the Defiant Requiem Foundation\, will join us via Zoom to disc
 uss this important film and the events it portrays. The program will be in
 -person at WJC and breakfast will be served\; it will also be accessible o

 all persons age two and above must wear masks at all times while inside th
 e building\, regardless of vaccination status. Exceptions include presente
 rs from the Bimah during religious services (including prayer leaders\, sp
 eakers\, and Torah readers) and while seated and eating.\n\nIn Outdoor Ten
 t Spaces and on Synagogue Grounds: Masks may be required for large gather
 ings in outdoor tents as determined by synagogue leadership. At other time
 s\, fully vaccinated persons need not wear masks outdoors\, although we as
 k that everyone be mindful of the sensitivities of those around them. All 
 unvaccinated persons age two and above must wear masks outdoors when they 
 are within six feet of others\, except when seated and eating Kiddush with
  their families or pods.\n\nVaccination Policy\n\nIndividuals ages 12 and 
 above: For the safety and comfort of the congregation\, all eligible pers
 ons ages 12 and above must be fully vaccinated to attend religious service
 s\, programs\, or other WJC activities in the building. We reserve the rig
 ht to request proof of vaccination at our discretion.\n\nThose who are not
  fully vaccinated may attend outdoor programming in accordance with the ma
 sking policy set forth above. We will continue to provide access to our se
 rvices and many of our programs virtually through Zoom and/or live stream.
