Yes!  Rhythm & Ruach two weeks in a row!

Join us for an uplifting, musical Shabbat service and stay for WJC’s first Moth Shabbat! There’s an optional community dinner at 6:30. Listen to fellow congregants tell true Shabbat stories, or better yet, share one of your own!

Stories should be 5 minutes or less.  Here’s one that might get your creative juices flowing.

Hope to see you at “our” Moth.

The Road to Shabbat

Pam Mizrachi

It was 1973 and I was a newbie at Camp Ramah.  I had a lot to learn, and so did my family.  My first lesson came on a Friday morning as a care package arrived from home. I watched in horror as my Oreos were deep-sixed since they weren’t kosher. I had never heard of Hydrox. Surely better days were ahead. My next lesson came the following day, on a gorgeous Shabbat morning.  I was determined to look my best for my first Saturday morning service, but when I turned on my blow dryer, I thought that 1000 Watt ticket to beauty would find itself next to my Oreos.  By summer’s end I chanted Birkat loudly with my friends, enjoyed endless Israeli dancing on Friday nights, and reveled in the glow of the braided candle at Havdalah.  In 8 weeks I traveled from 0 to 60 with no going back.
