DESCRIPTION:We’ll nosh and celebrate the wisdom of our faith and our comm
 unity in a nighttime learning session led by members of the community and 
 our clergy.\n\nThe Tikkun Leil Shavuot will be preceeded by a dinner begin

 n the Mountain – Learnings from Peak Moments – Come for any part or a
 ll of the sessions!\n\n7:00 pm – The Music of Ruth as Midrash – The dr
 amatic and romantic Book of Ruth\, traditionally read on Shavuot\, has att
 racted the attention of a considerable number of composers in the last two
  hundred years. Cantor Ethan Goldberg and WJC congregant Dr. Jon Yaeger
  (Music History department chair at Julliard) will present excerpts from 
 several of these works and examine how the libretto and music serve as mid
 rash (creative interpretation) of the text.\n\n8:00 pm – Ma’ariv Eveni
 ng service in the chapel followed by dessert\n\n8:30 pm – The View from 
 the 12th Floor – Two graduating high school seniors who grew up at WJC\,
  Annika Lee and Jonah Baron\, share their peak moments\, hopes for the fu
 ture\, and concerns about the college experience to come\n\n9:20 pm – 
 “In Favor of Perplexity over Whitewashing” – Camp Ramah Asst. Natio
 nal Director Dr. Daniel Olson explores the themes of a speech delivered b
 y Berl Katznelson (the namesake of kibbutz Be’eri) to a group of youth a
 liyah counselors in 1940. The speech delivered at a very complex moment in
  time for world Jewry sheds wisdom for this complex moment too.\n\n10:10 
 – Spiritual Resilience when Plans Change – Rabbi Cantor Shoshi Levin 
 Goldberg – What happens when our momentous occasions look different fro
 m how we imagined them?
