 Grangenois-Thomas\nJoan Grangenois-Thomas is a seasoned communications pro

s\, non-profit organizations\, individuals and social enterprises to every
project she executes.  Joan spent 10 years as a contract facilitator wi
th the Anti-Defamation League’s A World of Difference Institute. There\,
she presented anti-bias training to school children\, faculty and staff.
She brought that learning to her own community through the many organiz
ations she’s been involved with including as president of the Port Chest
 er/Rye N.A.A.C.P. In 2015\, Joan founded Read\, Talk\, Act\, an Interfaith
\, Social Justice Book Club\, after the horrific attack on churchgoers at
Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston\, SC. The goal of the club is t
o gain understanding of the many ways racism and discrimination have taken
root through reading. Members talk about how the readings challenged thei
r assumptions\, and then try to take action - individually or collectively
  - to affect change. The friendships and insights she has found through th
at book club has left an indelible mark on Joan. As a result of all her ef
forts\, Joan  is sought after to speak and bring her brand of bias awaren
ess to groups around Westchester County. Joan sits on the board of Sustain
able Westchester\, Journeys 2 Change and is in her second term as a truste
