Zalman's greatest passion is guiding through the land that he calls h ome. "Nothing is more gratifying than sharing my deep love and appreciatio n for Israel\, combined with over 20 years of accumulated knowledge and ex perience."\n\nBorn in Baltimore\, MD\, Zalman Spivak made Aliyah to Israel with his family in 1986.He served in the Nahal Infantry Unit of the Israe li Army. After his military service\, he earned a BA in Jewish History and Comparative Religion from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem\, pursued st udies in Education at Hertzog College\, and worked towards an MA in Jewish Education at the Melton School for Jewish Education at Hebrew University. From 2007 to 2010\, Zalman served as the Israeli shaliach (emissary) for the Jewish Agency and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism in Los Angeles\,focusing on engaging teens and university students throughout Cal ifornia and the US Southwest.\n\nZalman is a licensed tour guide certified by the Israel Ministry of Tourism and has since worked with youth and tee n groups\, Federations\, synagogues\, Christian groups\, and families. Zal man has four children and lives in Nofey Prat\, a young pluralistic Jewish community in the Judean Desert\, where they enjoy hiking\, reading and le arning new things\, playing games\, baking and cooking. They regularly ope n their home to guests\, and consider them all members their “extended f amily”.
