“To travel is to take a journey into yourself.”
The experiences we have while traveling lead to moments that quickly define who we are as a person and the community we create while on the road together. Whether volunteering or experiencing the culture of another city, these moments offer the opportunity to explore cultures and learn about ourselves as we travel outside of our comfort zones.
Sign up your teen to go (and grow!) on an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience! The WJC Teens, Teen Director Adam Bender, and Rabbi Adir Yolkut are headed for another MLK Weekend adventure—this time to Portland, OR! In partnership with Tivnu: Building Justice, we’ll explore the systematic problems regarding homelessness, poverty, and environmental awareness in Portland. Trip highlights include building/repairing tiny houses, working with impoverished youth, and adults in the streets, in addition to hiking and exploring the “City of Roses.”
Once you have successfully registered and paid, you will receive an additional email from Adam Bender, Director of Teen Engagement, with a few more questions for both parents and teens. Thank you, and we look forward to you joining us on our Teen Tiyul to Portland!
