When

May 15, 2026
8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

While 36% of the general population has a family history of cancer, this number goes up substantially for certain cancers among Ashkenazi Jews. Two WJC members, Michelle Zimmerman and Dr. Amir Steinberg, will present about:

  • Understanding cancer risk in the Jewish community, especially for Ashkenazi Jews at increased risk for various cancers
  • What evidence-based prevention and early detection look like
  • How individuals can advocate for themselves and their loved ones

Michelle Zimmerman is the founder of Previvor Edge, a company that provides specialized programs that identifiy cancer risk, build personalized prevention plans, and puts them into action. Dr. Amir Steinberg is the director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the Westchester Medical Center (WMC).
