Rosh Hashanah

The Jewish New Year celebrates the opportunity for us to restart. From our traditional service in the main sanctuary to our more intimate, interactive study service, Rosh Hashanah at WJC is full of uplifting singing, inspiring Torah, and of course, apples and honey. We also encourage young families to join our famed Family Service–geared toward youth aged 4-10 and their parents!

Yom Kippur

25 hours of introspection and self-work that will help get your Jewish year started off right. We feature multiple services through the day, culminating with a rousing, communal-wide final service where every family can spend some private, quiet moments in front of our ark.

Sukkot

The Festival of Booths is spent outside, celebrating the gifts of nature. We build huts, we sing and dance, and we shake our lulav. Come to WJC where you can choose your own adventure in our Sukkah.

Simcha Torah & Shemini Atzeret

The holiday where we celebrate another cycle of reading the Torah. We dance with the Torah, sing into the night, and then do it again the next morning. Not for the faint of heart!

Hanukkah

Friday, December 4, 2026 – Saturday, December 12, 2026
The festival of lights where we celebrate the miracle of the oil lasting for 8 days. We throw a massive carnival/festival in the middle of the holiday where there is fun for all ages: magic, drumming, puppets, and more!

Purim

Monday, March 22, 2027 – Tuesday, March 23, 2027
The story of the Jewish people’s miraculous survival from Shushan led by Queen Esther and Mordekhai. We dress in costumes, put on an amazing Purim shpiel, and eat copious amounts of hamantaschen.

Passover

Wednesday, April 21, 2027 – Thursday, April 29, 2027
We celebrate the Jewish people’s exodus from slavery with celebration, song, and of course, long welcoming meals full of great food and drink.

Yom Shoah

Monday, May 3, 2027 – Tuesday, May 4, 2027
A solemn day where we mark the Shoah and all those lost to the horrors of that period. We have a moving and meaningful service by our holocaust memorial site where we gather together as a full community.

Yom Hazikaron

Monday, May 10, 2027 – Tuesday, May 11, 2027
Israeli Memorial Day, which we mark with a special service at our morning minyan.

Yom Haatzmaut

Tuesday, May 11, 2027 – Wednesday, May 12, 2027
Israeli Independence Day, where we celebrate our indelible link to the Jewish state. Come celebrate with us at a festival with Israeli-themed games, dancing, and of course falafel!
