On Sat, May 3 – in lieu of Shabbat Yoga, we will offer a new experience from 10:00-11:30 a.mNeshama Body and Soul, with Rabbi Jaymee Alpert.

Neshama Body and Soul (NBS) is a full-body workout and an opportunity for spiritual awakeness. NBS combines body-weight strength exercise (for example: push-ups, squats, planks, etc.), Jewish prayer and wisdom, and self-reflection to help you connect with you. This isn’t yoga, this is holy-grounded strength training.

Please note that we will be getting up and down from the floor throughout the session, and there will be modifications offered for the movements. Please wear comfortable clothes and sneakers and bring water and a mat or towel.

Rabbi Jaymee Alpert is passionate about the connection between spirituality and physical activity. She is the creator of Neshama Body and Soul, a practice that integrates exercise with Jewish prayer and wisdom. She has more than 20 years of experience as a congregational rabbi, having served synagogues in the Bay Area, Westchester, NY, and Princeton, NJ. She was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary and holds master’s degrees in Jewish Education and Jewish Women’s Studies. She currently sits on the boards of Lilith Magazine and RUACH (Jewish movement and meditation studio). In addition, she is a certified life coach and fitness trainer.
