Donations Needed for Newly Arriving Afghan Refugees

SOJAC is part of a community-wide effort led by UJA and Westchester Jewish Coalition for Immigration to collect needed items for newly arriving Afghan Refugees. This drive will help thousands of people to stay warm this winter while they wait to be transferred from American military bases.

We are collecting new/gently used male and female shoes and winter coats for all ages and sizes, ladies’ handbags with long straps, and children’s backpacks. These can be delivered directly to a site, including Larchmont Temple and JCC Mid-Westchester. There is also an Amazon wish list so people can easily click to buy items. These will be delivered directly to JCC Mid-Westchester.

If you need further details, please get in touch with Holly Rosen Fink at info@wjci.org.

Please see below for a volunteer sign-up for Monday, Columbus Day, when we will be packing and sorting everything going to the refugees in camps: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d49adae2ba3f4c07-supplies
