Please note two updates to the High Holiday calendar below.
Yom Kippur Study Session – A Personal View from Campus
Saturday, October 12, at 2:00pm
For this year’s afternoon study session we are inviting college students to share their experiences with Antisemitism on their campuses. If you know college students (or recent graduates) who will be home for Yom Kippur and would be willing to participate in the discussion, please let Rabbi Arnowitz know as soon as possible.
Afternoon Yizkor Memorial Service on Yom Kippur
Saturday, October 12, at 5:00pm
Last Yom Kippur, we added an afternoon Yizkor Memorial Service for those who may have missed Yizkor during the earlier services. This year, in addition to that purpose, the 5:00pm Yizkor service will serve as a Memorial service for those lost on October 7th and since. The service will include telling the story of several of those lost that day and since, to symbolize and personalize the tremendous loss on and since that horrible day. Childcare will be starting at 5:00pm to help make it easier for all anyone to attend.
Tickets
Please bring a paper copy of your tickets with you and allow extra time for your tickets to be checked by security prior to entering the building.
Parking
We have limited parking on the synagogue property. Only cars that have received a parking pass from the office will be allowed to park in the WJC parking lot. Cars must enter via the Rockland Avenue entrance and park at the direction of security staff. Parking on Rosh Hashanah will also be available at all Mamaroneck High School parking lots and nearby streets. Please note: cars should not park in the Town of Mamaroneck parking lot; cars will be ticketed if you park in the Town of Mamaroneck parking lot.
Event Staff
The building will be busier than ever (with 3 services running simultaneously) so we have added a dedicated event staff team stationed in the halls to help our members and guests know where to go and ensure that the halls are easy to maneuver.
Distanced Seating in the Sanctuary Service
As in previous years, there will be a designated section in the Reception Room for anyone who has registered for open seating and prefers distanced seating. This section will be on the right side of the sanctuary when facing the Bimah.
