Westchester Jewish Center is proud to announce that we will be participating in Project24Israel’s “Thanks4Giving Mega Mission” to honor kibbutzim civilian emergency team members and their families.
This incredible endeavor is bringing the emergency team members and their families to Westchester from November 10 to November 17. WJC and Shaarei Tikvah of Scarsdale have the honor of hosting families from Kibbutz Re’im, one of the hardest hit kibbutzim on October 7. The 46 kibbutzniks from 12 families will fly to New York to be hosted by families and individuals in our community and to attend a special gala in their honor. This should be a week where WJC members can connect with these civilian fighters and their families to honor their bravery and sacrifice.
We need help from our WJC community to make this endeavor a success! There are many ways to get involved in this project:
1) A FundMe by IsraelGives donation page has been created to help bring these families to the United States and is currently accepting donations until November 30th. To donate, click here.
2) Another way to get involved is to join our event planning committee. We will need a committee to help our office plan the entire week from the arrival to the departure of our Israeli families.
3) We will need hosts! There are many options for hosting a family. Hosting can range from providing overnight housing for the whole visit to fun day trips and more!
To become involved with the committee or to host, please fill out the form linked here.
Thank you in advance to those of you who plan to volunteer for this project. Let’s welcome these families with open arms and open hearts, give them an unforgettable experience, and most importantly, honor their courage.
