Support Israel: Upcoming Rallies & Trusted Tzedakah Organizations
Last night over 200 members of the WJC community came together to pray and process. We worked to change our shock and sadness to resolve and fortitude. Today we start putting our support for Israel and our people into action. Below is information about:
- Three rallies we encourage you to attend this evening and Wednesday evening
- Links to trusted tzedakah organizations
- A link to easily contact your elected officials to express your support for continued US resolve in supporting Israel’s efforts to defend her people:
1) We encourage you to attend one or both rallies this evening. It is my intention to attend all three, though those of us in New York City may be late for the Westchester Rally at TIC.
- UJA Federation of New York and JCRC are sponsoring “New York Stands with Israel” vigil and rally today at 5:00pm (doors open at 4:30pm) at Dag-Hammerskjold Plaza. Enter on 2nd Avenue and 47th Street side. If you plan to attend WJC members will try to meet before 4:00pm at the corner of 2nd Avenue and 45th Street. We will begin walking into the rally together at exactly 4:00pm.
- The Westchester Stands with Israel County-wide Solidarity Rally begins at 8:00pm at Temple Israel Center (280 Old Mamaroneck Road in White Plains). We understand that there are a record number of registrants—think High Holidays peak size. So please arrive early and consider carpooling if you can.
- The Larchmont-Mamaroneck town and villages have organized a Town Vigil and Rally in Harbor Island on Wednesday at 5:30pm. We hope you will join us there to express the importance of what happened and our resolve to our wider community
2) The following Charitable organizations are organizing important funds for Israel and Israelis:
3) Contact your elected officials to express your support for Israel’s efforts either through the AIPAC link, which makes that process very easy or by sending your own letters or phone calls expressing why the US support of Israel in this moment is important to you as a constituent.
