Has your child ever been to a teen event at WJC? Well, I recommend going to one! As a ninth-grader who has been going to WJC since age three, I have been attending programs at the synagogue for a long time. After COVID hit, most teens spent every day in their room either doing school work online or chatting with a friend on FaceTime. Although we spent time outdoors reading or playing a game with our family, there have not been many options of fun things to do for teens.
Recently, WJC has had more teen programs to get everyone involved. In mid-September, there was the teen programming kickoff event in the sukkah in which I attended. Around 25 people came and everyone had so much fun. We introduced ourselves to new faces, played about five different games, and ate a yummy dinner. After we ate, there was an ice cream truck for everyone to enjoy a cold treat! Next time there is a teen event, you should encourage your child to go. They can make new friends, have fun, and even learn about Jewish cultures or an upcoming holiday!
