Delegation of Power of Attorney for Sale of Chametz

Jewish tradition demands that all chametz – food not acceptable during Pesach (Passover), or materials containing such unacceptable food – should be destroyed or given away before the holiday begins.

Should this be impossible, the chametz may be stored in such a way that we are sure not to use it during the holiday, and its ownership is transferred to a non-Jew until the holiday ends.

Similar to last year, please complete the form linked below to delegate power of attorney for the sale of your chametz.

Please complete the form no later than March 31, 2026 by 9am.

Follow this link to complete the Delegation Form: https://wjcenter.shulcloud.com/form/selling-chametz-2026/5786

Project Ezra Passover Funds Drive – Through March 29

The Project Ezra Passover Funds Drive provides funds that allows Project Ezra to send checks to each of their clients that lets them buy the Passover foods they need for the holiday.

Food costs continue to increase and Passover goods are particularly costly! These checks are a blessing for the elders. Last year we collected almost $11,000 and we can do it again!

From March 1- 29, 2026, WJC SOJAC will collect funds in the following ways:

*Donate online! Go to projectezra.org and follow the prompts to donate. Please note donation is from a Westchester Jewish Center member.

* Send a check made out to Project Ezra, noting Westchester Jewish Center in the memo.

Mail to Project Ezra 387 Grand Street – Ground Floor New York, NY 10002 – Attn. Gerry

* Bring your check to WJC, made out ONLY to Project Ezra. Leave for Sharon Silver in the SOJAC mailbox.
