2020 WJC Spring Virtual Gala FAQ

What is a Virtual Gala?

The WJC Virtual Spring Gala was created to continue our 70-year tradition of hosting a gala and honoring esteemed members of our community. It is the most significant, and critical, yearly fundraising effort for our Center. Because we cannot be together in person this year, the Virtual Gala was created to allow our community to sing, laugh, and make memories together online. This special event website features video conferencing (similar to our Zoom calls), chats, quizzes, and more, allowing us to “virtually” interact and honor Rabbi Jeffrey and Marla Segelman on May 17 at 4:00pm.

How long will it last?

The program will last roughly 45 minutes.

Is there a cost to attend?

There is NO cost to attend, but you must register in advance. Our special event website will be private to attendees of our Virtual Gala. After your register, you will receive a password to gain access.

Does everyone in my family need to register?

Only one person per family needs to register.

How can I participate?

Participation is easy! We have two ways to kick off participation for the WJC Virtual Spring Gala—registering for the event and purchasing a Tribute Ad to honor Rabbi Jeffrey and Marla Segelman. Registration is completely free, and gains you access to our special event website.

Purchase a Tribute Ad to celebrate WJC and honor Rabbi and Marla with a special message Tribute Journal. Funds raised directly impact our annual operating budget. We will showcase a virtual Tribute Journal for our entire community to view, however a limited number of printed copies can be requested when you purchase your Tribute Ad. From the name listings to the full page options, all ad sizes are a meaningful way to pay tribute to our honorees.

Please select your Tribute Journal ad size here. All ads are due by April 30.

The deadline for submitting a Tribute Journal Ad has passed. For questions or concerns, please send an email to wjcgala@wjcenter.org. Thank you!

I just registered. What’s next?

I don’t want to enter any of my information online. How can I submit my Tribute Ad?

What is expected of participants during the Virtual Gala?

We will live stream our Virtual Spring Gala, and we plan on a video function so we can see you at certain points during the program! You can participate as much or as little as you like in the comfort of your own home, but we would love for you to sing and laugh along with us as much as possible.  Additionally, there are some fun activities on our Gala experience website that will go live the week of the Gala. To learn more about these interactive activities honoring the Segelmans, be on the lookout for our emails!

How can I get involved in the activities ahead of time?

We’re excited to share with you additional participatory details for our Virtual Gala Experience in the coming weeks. In addition to the live streaming Gala, there will be some fun things you can do to help prepare for the event! Make sure to continue to check your emails from WJC!
