Presented by World Jewry Committee

Hear from Phil Rosenberg, the Public Affairs Director of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, on key community public policy issues affecting the UK Jewish community.

This session will go beyond the ‘ABC’ issues to discuss the implications of Israel’s peace accords; threats to freedom of religion and belief across the world; and a look at the UK Jewish community’s response to topics like the murder of George Floyd and the COP26 Climate Change Conference.

Phil Rosenberg is Director of Public Affairs at the Board of Deputies of British Jews – the national representative body of the UK Jewish community – founded in 1760. A recognized leader in interfaith relations in the UK, Phil previously ran a Muslim-Jewish dialogue group at Oxford University before becoming the Executive Director of the Faiths Forum for London. Since 2014 he has been Co-Chair of the Faiths Leaders Forum in the London Borough of Camden, where he also served as an elected local councillor until 2018, representing the Labour Party. Phil is married to the wonderful Frances, and in his spare time enjoys languages, running and reading.

Rosenberg will be interviewed by WJC members Jacques Steinberg, author and former NYT journalist,  and Brian Fink, born in the UK.
