Donate gently used books to stock over sixty Little Libraries throughout NYC for at-risk toddlers through teens. Put books in kids’ hands this summer!
Your barely used children’s books will help HEALTH for Youth, led by public scholar Heather Butts (JD, MPH, MA), stock Little Libraries- “take a book, leave a book” stands in lower-income neighborhoods, including public housing developments and police precincts, to encourage reading and build social trust.
From May 31 to July 6, drop your favorite gently used clean kids’ books with no rips or tears, in marked bins at WJC (by the Sanctuary, the coatroom, and the office). Books should be secular in nature.
This is a great project to involve the whole family in choosing loved but no longer read books to share with kids in NYC through the Little Libraries.
