“Why would anyone talk to journalists? We don’t need them – all they do is twist your words into something you never said – they lie. The news has nothing to do with what’s actually going on or even finding out what’s going on.”
Those are thoughts that were shared by WJC teens last year. There were strong feelings and major disagreements among the group, so we decided to reach out to some journalists and have a conversation about why anyone should talk to them, what their process is like, and what journalism (and the news) looks like today – and whether or not it can change. Join us for dinner and a conversation.
Join us in the WJC Teen Lounge for a panel discussion with two journalists with experience at major news organizations on fact-checking, sourcing, and how they try to get things right. Dinner from 6-6:30pm, discussion from 6:45-8pm
