Join WJC Teens and Friends to learn the little-known history of slavery in Mamaroneck Township. It is hard to imagine that enslaved people, including children and teens, lived and worked right here in Mamaroneck. CUNY Professor Ned Benton and Mamaroneck Village Historian John Pritts, founders of REALM (Recognizing Enslaved Africans of Larchmont Mamaroneck) will highlight the lives, names and stories of the 147 real enslaved people who built this community in a teen-friendly version of the program recently presented at WJC.
