3 Ways to Banish the Winter Doldrums with SOJAC!

SHARON SILVER & SONDRA LEVY      CO-CHAIRS

We’d like to start out with a warm winter thank you to everyone who so generously donated fleeces and/or activity books during the recent Holiday Drive. The gifts were well received by CRC clients who happily experienced our connection to them via these special gifts.

Our eyeglass collection was also a success! These glasses will be donated to the Westchester Volunteer Medical group that brings medical eye services and eyeglasses to needy, rural Dominicans.

Winter is a time to nourish others and ourselves. Here’s three events to put on your calendar:

February 7 at 9:30am, Larchmont-Mamaroneck Interfaith Council Meeting at First Baptist Church: Take part in a monthly meeting of local houses of worship to strengthen our interfaith learning and connections. Contact Sharon Silver at sraplata@msn.com.

February 10 at 12:00pm is Community Day: Prepare food, make soup-in-a-jar containers, bake and decorate cookies, or make crafts for recipients. Support the work of HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle with the whole family—it is great for kids and adults. Your work helps to supply the HOPE Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen. Contact Sondra Levy at sklevy8@gmail.com.

February 11, Read-Talk-Act Book: Join RTA in its first meeting of 2019 as we set the agenda for the year and select our reading. Our book group is growing and promises to be more timely and vital than ever. Date and location TBA. Leader: Joan Grangenois-Thomas. Contact Sandi Rosenbaum at sandi.rosenbaum@gmail.com.
