6th Grade Spring Clean-Up

[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”1″ display=”basic_slideshow”]This past May, 6th-grade students and their parents cleaned up the Larchmont Reservoir. Led by a Shelldrake Environmental Center educator, WJC families removed a total of 49 pounds of trash and 44 pounds of recyclable material from the reservoir. Their efforts have made the Shelldrake Lake and pond a cleaner habitat for plants and animals, which include fish, frogs, turtles, birds, ducks, and more. Their efforts also make an impact on the health and quality of the water as it continues downstream and enters Long Island Sound.

Thanks to all who volunteered for being a positive force and stewards for the environment.
