Engage with Heroes and Families from Kibbutz Reim

Hopefully you’ve heard by now that we are hosting the families of the Civilian Emergency Team from Kibbutz Re’im in the Gaza envelope. The Team are the ones who defended their Kibbutz on October 7, 2024 and their families are all survivors of the attack. Now we have the privilege to spend a week with them – November 11-16!

Here is the schedule of events open to the congregation (some have limited space and all require advanced registration! Most also have a registration fee.) 

1. Bake Sale for Kibbutz Re’im – Sunday, November 10, at 12:00pm Okay our guests won’t be here yet, but come support WJC as we raise money for the families of Kibbutz Re’im! Buy a sweet treat for a great cause!
2. Breakfast with Shaarei Tikvah in Scarsdale – Monday, November 11, at 10:00am Meet the families of Kibbutz Re’im and nosh on some delicious breakfast foods! Register here.
3. Project 24 Thanks4Giving Gala – Tuesday, November 12, at 7:00pm Show your support for the families of Kibbutz Re’im by attending a beautiful gala at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 7 W. 83rd Street NYC, dedicated to supporting the kibbutzim and their displaced communities. The Gala Ceremony is at 7pm and will be followed by a “Kibbutz-style” dinner at 8:15pm. Find out more and register by clicking here.
4. Plaster Palace Pottery – Thursday, November 14, at 7:30pm Join the Sisterhood and the women of Kibbutz Re’im at Plaster Palace Pottery in Larchmont! Take home your own piece of art, enjoy some sushi and conversation! Teens welcome with moms. Only 35 spots available! Cost $36 dollars/person. Find out more and register by clicking here!
5. Community Shabbat Dinner with Kibbutz Re’im – Friday, November 15, at 6:30pm Enjoy a beautiful Shabbat dinner with our guests from Kibbutz Re’im then Hear directly from the members of Kibbutz Reim’s Civilian Emergency Team who will tell their stories firsthand. $25 per adult and $15 per child with a family max of $80. 6. K-6th Grade Movie Night and Club 78/Teen Pizza and a Movie Night and Pizza – Saturday, November 16, at 6:30pm  The kids and teens from the Kibbutz will join our kids for a pasta dinner followed by a choice of age appropriate movies in the WJC Activity Center and Library. $25 per person.
