Help Plant A Living Holocaust Memorial

The Daffodil Project aspires to build a worldwide Living Holocaust memorial by planting 1.5 million daffodils in memory of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust and in support for children who continue to suffer in the face of genocide and other humanitarian crises in the world today. To date, the Project has planted almost 400,000 daffodils in more than 120 locations worldwide.

WJC is partnering again for the second year in a row with The Daffodil Project for this important initiative. Last fall, Religious School students working with Aleza Kulp, Education Director, Shoshi Rosenbaum, former Teen Engagement Director and Glenna Lee of the HLC, planted over 200 bulbs around the WJC Holocaust Memorial to commemorate the children who perished in the Holocaust.

In April, the daffodils were in full bloom in time for the Yom HaShoa Ceremony and enjoyed by many of our members and visitors for the entire season.

This year, the students will be planting again in early November. We would like to extend the opportunity for members to purchase their own bulbs to create your own family gardens. You can email the Project directly at worldwidedaffodilproject@gmail.com to inquire about bulb purchases or go to the website: www.daffodilproject.net.
