Letter from the WJC President

Chavarim (friends),
I just returned from our Spring-fest, our first community-wide family-friendly gala celebration, and what an incredible evening it was. More than three hundred people connected with friends old and new and shared in a building full of activities. Regardless of age, every person I spoke to simply had a great time celebrating our Israeli heritage together. I want to thank our chairs, Susie Miller and Sherry Gench Thaler, the entire gala committee and our hardworking staff for their willingness to invent something new – and creating a family-friendly event that resonated with everyone young and old.

Speaking of family events, I am writing to encourage you to sign up for the Shabbaton weekend and family camp at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires September 6-8. Our last retreat was nearly 20 years ago – and it was also an incredible experience. I remember it well because so many of the new people we met that weekend became our closest friends today I am attaching a few pictures so you can share the wonderful experience we had.

Our current committee, headed by Amy and Fred Bennett and Justin Mayer are once again planning great activities and a fun-filled active weekend this year as well. See more information here. You can contact them with any questions, but please take this gentle advice from your president – just do it! You will thank them later!

Thanks again for a wonderful evening – looking forward to more celebrating in the fall.
L’hitraot
