Senior Rabbi Contract Renewal Process: Next Steps

Dear WJC Family,

In last week’s email, I explained that we will follow a very careful, transparent, multi-step process as defined in our bylaws and as required by NYS law for contracting a Senior Rabbi.

The evaluation of Rabbi Arnowitz being complied by Harold Treiber and Glenna Lee will be presented at an open Spiritual Life Committee (SLC) meeting scheduled for May 1, when the members of that committee will review the evaluation and appropriate comments from guests and vote on whether to recommend a renewal.  Assuming the recommendation is positive, it will be brought to a special congregational meeting later this spring (currently scheduled for May 22), to gain authorization from our membership for the officers to begin negotiations.

That SLC meeting will begin on May 1 at 7:45pm in the Activity Center. For anyone who wishes to participate in the meeting but cannot be here in person, a Zoom link and call-in number are provided below.
