Sisterhood’s New Theme for the New Year

GLENNA LEE SISTERHOOD PRESIDENT

The start of the Jewish New Year also marks the beginning of a new year at Sisterhood.  This year’s theme is “Eshet Chayil, A Woman Of Valor.”

This Friday evening song can be found in Proverbs 31. To date, it is traditional for men to sing this song of praise to women during the Friday night Kiddish. In the spirit of feminism, Sisterhood will re-examine, re-think, and re-invent the traditional Eshet Chayil acrostic; finding joy in creating a new modern lens to appreciate the ways in which all women are Eshet Chayil, Women of Valor.

Please join us in our Annual Sisterhood Kick Off Event, Thursday, October 24 at 7:00-9:30pm, where each of us will embark on a special project to become our best Eshet Chayil. During the event, we will welcome in new members, embrace old, and honor those who have served as Sisterhood leadership in the past decades. We will learn beginners’ Israeli dance together, pray in minyan, and create a special art project.

Please RSVP to thewjcsisterhood@gmail.com by October 11. This event is free to all Sisterhood members and welcomes in any other woman for $13 per person.
