SOJAC Donations by the Numbers!

In November, we welcomed 50 attendees with a SOJAC Shabbat with dinner, a special Rhythm & Ruach, and an outstanding speaker, Joan Grangenois-Thomas. Nearly 100 SOJAC Booklets were distributed, as we worshipped together and focused our learning on the connections between Jewish teachings and the work of SOJAC. Here’s a quick view of what we, as a community, accomplished:

CRC Holiday Gift Drive- December 9th and 16th

• 120+ Fleece blankets for adults
• 120+ Activity Books for children ages 4-12
• Plus hats and gloves for children ages 3 months -4 and $25 gift cards for teens

SOJAC Shabbat Weekend- November 16,17 and 18Th (Mitzvah Day) 

Caritas thanked us for our generosity, counted and told us that we collected for them…

• 72 cans of vegetables
• 24 cans of fruit and juice 19 cans of soup
• 94 bottles of cooking oil!!!!! (About $500)
• 340 toiletries and hygiene items
• Over 100 snack bags made by WJC congregants

That does not include…

• 60+ boxes of diapers for My Sisters’ Place and Providence House
• 48+ men’s warm winter jackets and sweatshirts for CRC day laborers and Caritas
• 400+ toiletries and hygiene items for My Sisters’ Place and Providence House
• Dozens of children’s warm jackets and winter clothing for CRC
• And more…!
