Dear WJC Family,
It is hard right now to think about anything other than sirens and explosions. As we have watched the news of the last few days, we have watched with horror at the escalating violence in and around Israel. As of this writing, there have been over 1000 rockets and mortars launched at Israeli civilian centers, riots have led to the burning of synagogues, and businesses and children and their families are fleeing to shelters in the middle of the night. There can never be justification for the indiscriminate firing of rockets into any country or civilian population. All of our hearts break for the victims of the violence, civilians on both sides of the border where Hamas rockets land and pray for peace to settle once again upon the City of Peace, Jerusalem, and the Jewish Homeland.
Please join us and the UJA/Federation solidarity event (information below) and at our 7:00pm evening minyan where we will share special prayers of support for the residents of Israel and prayers for peace. The link for the evening service is: https://zoom.us/j/445906724.
With blessings of hope and strength,

Over the past 24 hours, hundreds of rockets have been launched at Israel. Sirens are sounding throughout the country, from Ashkelon to Jerusalem to Herzliya, and the death and injury count is rising. Our hearts are with our brothers and sisters in Israel.
Together with Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY) and the Israeli Consulate, we’re gathering virtually in solidarity to demonstrate our unbreakable bond with the people of Israel. We pray for an end to the violence and the restoration of peace and stability.
Join us at 5:00pm to show your support.
