The World Jewry Committee, together with the Teen Engagement Committee, will be co-hosting a Zoom panel on Anti-Semitism/Anti-Zionism on College Campuses on Wednesday, May 27 at 8:00pm for teens and their parents.
The speakers will include Joel Bond from Alums for Campus Fairness, Rena Nasar from Stand with Us, and Rachel Klein from Hillel, and Yoni Nierenbeg & Ofir Dayan, two college students from Students & Parents Against Campus Anti-Semitism. Being Jewish and promoting pro-Israel advocacy is a challenging task in today’s college and university campus environment with the growth of the BDS movement, and other anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist viewpoints. We will talk to our panel about the current campus situation and how to combat these antagonisms using factual arguments, tools, and Jewish student resources. This will be a highly interactive, informative conversation. We’ll ask panelists and students:
What does it mean for me to be Jewish?
Why does Israel matter to me?
What are some of the groups/individuals on campus that promote Anti Semitism/Anti Zionism, political backdrop, what are they doing and why?
How can Jewish students express their Jewishness and promote Israel on campus?
